Here's me & my sis Cara doing a pop video "I don't know much"
way back in 1988.
Again from 1988 Cara and her friend Angela doing " I wouldn't change a thing" by Kylie Minogue. (My mothers old bed sheets came in handy as our backdrops hehe)
This time Cara from a little clip we shot in called "Brosis"
featuring my friend Kevin as the bro and Cara as his sis getting
into a confrontation over their differences in music tastes. Kevin
supposedly loved Wendy James from 80's band Transvision Vamp and
Cara Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue. Okay now it's time to see how I looked way way back in 1987 with my appearance on a local kids game show called "Pick A Number" I was with a team of pupils from my school Ellon Academy and I was in my first year. In my team was my friend Kevin Pollock who lived just down the street from me so I was 11 nearly 12 years old and did my impression of Vera & Mavis from Coronation street and had to try and whistle a tune whilst having a mouthful of marshmallows. Needless to say our school lost the game even though in my humble opinion we had the best talent.Sour grapes I hear you cry?
Download the highlights here! Pick A Number! WMV (15.3mb)
One more of me & Cara this time doing "Especially for you" by Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan a year or so later.
Panasonic M7 oh I remember the days ahh...........
The whole school all 1500 of us took part teachers and all to beat the then record, sadly we were beaten the following year.
These pics are all from the first ever pop video I managed to edit in a professional edit suite with effects n' all. We filmed this one in my tiny 10' x 8' bedroom with my mothers net curtains and some crinkled tin-foil as a backdrop with some disco lights behind them borrowed from the cub scouts. My sister is Kylie once again performing the track "Shocked" from 1991.Filmed over a few hours with 8 different run throughs. I am most proud of this video and many people have commented on how good it is, I even sent it off to the record company responsible PWL and got a letter back praising my efforts. I turned in a copy of this video and have had it confirmed to me recently that Kylie has indeed seen it! Woohoo! This keyhole effect was actually a black piece of cardboard waved around in front of the lens! My scissor skills came in handy!
This was my first ever attempt at a short film. I was 16 at the time and had some equipment borrowed from the local cable channel and decided to put it to good use. Basically a bunch of my friends and I got together and made up a story about a boy who had runaway from a public school as he was being bullied. Lots of outdoor filming and we had a good laugh, looking back it was a nightmare to edit as the continuity was awful, well all in the name of fun! We even got a mention in the local newspapers and a colour photo. It was broadcast in Aberdeen twice daily for a month or so and gave the lads their 15 mins of fame!
Here we find the kids in the woods looking for the person who accidentally dropped some rocks off the top of the limestone kiln nearly hitting them.
This is Warren our sound man, the cast and crew all ranged in
age from 12-16! Watch / Download Hide Away Here Okay so now it's time to update a little bit. Below is a selection of video clips made entirely by me in recent years.
